The Annual Clinton Carter Dinner was held on March 22nd at the Hilton Garden Inn Highlands Ranch. The 100 plus people in attendance enjoyed a Silent Auction and Cocktail Hour, followed by a four course meal.  Special Keynote Speaker Jamie LaRue, Former Director of Douglas Country Libraries, did not disappoint the crowd with his humorous and insightful "storytelling" related to his experiences working within the Douglas County library system.

Candidates who attended the dinner and spoke about their personal lives, their reasons for running and their candidacy included: Andrew Romanoff, CD 6; Vic Meyers, CD 4; Don Quick, Attorney General; Joe Neguse, Secretary of State; and Naquetta Ricks, Regent for CU6.  Cameron Bean, Campaign Coordinator for Senator Mark Udall, spoke on the US Senator's behalf.  Jennifer Koch, Executive Director for the Colorado Democratic Party, also spoke giving the audience an insight into CDP's plans to win in the November election.

Mistress of Ceremonies, Ronda Scholting, keep the evening moving smoothly.  DCDP Award winners were announced by Mike Jones, Chair of the Douglas County Democratic Party.  Delana Maynes won the Democrat of the Year award and Clark and Lois Huff won for Lifetime Achievement.  Congratulations Delana, Clark and Lois!

The silent auction was a huge success with over 34 items being auctioned.  One of the highlights of the live auction was the auctioning off of a "walk  the dogs and their candidates".  Andrew Romanoff, Joe Neguse and Don Quick offered some quality time, while walking their four legged friends, to the highest bidder which was a table of eight who pooled their resources to win the bid.

Another successful Clinton Carter Dinner for the Douglas County Democratic Party!  Thank you to all who attended the event, helped plan the event and those who contributed and purchased auction items.
