Drinking Liberally -- Castle Rock

The 4th Wednesday of the month is careening toward us - - on 6/22 at 5:30pm, the team room is reserved for the group at the Fowl Line in Castle Rock for the usual fellowship, merriment and munchies!

You can also see "The Road to Livingston" at the Sheridan Library (4325 W. Oxford) starting at 6 p.m., with a panel discussion on the death penalty afterward. "The Road to Livingston" chronicles the weekly journey of Delia Perez Meyer to see her brother on death row in Texas - - Louis Castro Perez is innocent and awaiting the results of efforts to clear his name of a triple homicide. Delia is not only a stalwart support to her brother, but she has turned into a powerful advocate for him and for the abolition of the death penalty in one of our nation's most killing states.

If you'd like to join us for "The Road to Livingston", we'd love to see you - - otherwise, Drinking Liberally Castle Rock is going to go ahead as regularly scheduled!

Drinking Liberally -- Castle Rock

Nearly 20 people turned out for 2nd Wednesday DL last month at Maddie's Biergarten, and a number of folks have asked that we have it there again in June! So, that's exactly what we're gonna do - - Wednesday, June 8th, starting at 5:30 p.m. The weather is supposed to be great, so we'll be outside in the biergarten (there are heaters, but bring a jacket if you're not a cold-tolerant).

Drinking Liberally -- Castle Rock

Our experiment with meeting twice a month continues! The 2nd Wednesday is this week (May 11th) , and we'll also be continuing our rotation from place to place on 2nd Wednesday only - - this week, we'll be at Maddie's Biergarten on 3rd Street starting at 5:30 p.m. Bring a jacket - - we'll be out in the biergarten if nature cooperates with us..... :)

Castle Rock Drinking Liberally

Howdy, Castle Rock DL - - Quite a few folks responded to the question about attending a special screening of "Guns, Greed and the NRA" at the Philip S. Miller Library in Castle Rock this Wednesday, instead of having our regular Drinking Liberally gathering. AND, the majority would like to see the movie and then catch a drink afterward!

So, we won't be gathering at the Fowl Line tomorrow but rather will meet between 5:30 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. in the CR Bank Room (east & west) at the library, where we'll have a chance to see the movie and hopefully participate in discussion and maybe problem-solving. As far as I know, the event is free and there is no reservation required. We'll decide together where to go for an adult beverage after, OK?

The next Drinking Liberally gathering will be 2nd Wednesday of May at Maddie's Biergarten in the patio area!

Drinking Liberally Castle Rock - Cancelled Due to Weather

Highway closures, school district closures and now a Drinking Liberally closure as well - - the spring storm is wreaking havoc along the Front Range and we want you all to stay safe and warm. Don't venture out for DL CR tonight, but do drink liberally at home.
