Thursday DL is still on! 6pm at Carlos Miguel's
We are having our regular Drinking Liberally this Thursday, December 8, at 6pm
I hope that all of you who made it to the Holiday Xmas etc. Party this past Saturday had a great time. Thanks to all of you who brought marvelous food, dishes, desserts! I was thrilled to have so many excellent people attend.
This Thursday we'll have Drinking Liberally back at Carlos Miguel's. This is effectively our 10th Anniversary as Drinking Liberally Denver South Metro. Thanks to all those who came to one or many of the meetings over these many years.
We normally don't have a second DL in December because it falls on one of the holidays. However, I'm open to scheduling one on the 22nd if there's interest out there. Just let me know.
Have a fantastic holiday regardless of which one(s) you celebrate. And if you're coming Thursday, remember to Bring A Friend!
10th year Anniversary of Reading Liberally
Our December 14th Holiday Dinner will be at Lansdowne Arms stands, starting at 6:30 on Wed., Dec. 14th. As always, feel free to bring a gently used, wrapped book for our Blue Elephant gift exchange!
The book for January 11th will be "The Lost Wife," by Alyson Richman. If any of you have read "Suite Francais," I think that you'll like this one. The room will be "The Children's Corner," a spacious room still on the ground floor of the Lone Tree Library.
The book for February 8th will be "Hillbilly Elegy," by J.D. Vance. Put your library/inter-library loan request in Now for this very popular book. The Douglas County Libraries room reservation system was "upgraded" and we didn't get a room, so you'll have to meet at Koelbel Library.

WHERE: Highlands Ranch (James LaRue) Library, 9292 Ridgeline Boulevard, Highlands Ranch, CO 80129
If there's ever a time to Drink Liberally, it's now.
That's why we have Drinking Liberally tomorrow (Thursday) Nov 10th at 6pm at Carlos Miguel's Restaurant in Highlands Ranch (near to Super Target at Town Center).
We started Drinking Liberally in Highlands Ranch almost exactly 10 years ago. We started it because we were living in a highly conservative area who's representative was a mad misogynist who hated brown skinned people and wanted war in the Middle East. And we needed a place for liberals and progressively minded folks to get together to converse with each other, giving each other company in a miserable political time.
Now we enter a period where our President-elect is far worse than Tancredo every was. And we need Drinking Liberally now more than ever.
So I invite ALL of you to come and meet all your other current and to-be friends, joining together to help each other as we look forward to more dark political days for our nation. I definitely will need your company going forward. Thanks. – Rick
November Book Club
Our last book of the year will be "Idiot America," by Charles Pierce. A timely book... Even if you haven't read it, be sure to come to this one as we'll be selecting books for January - March, and discussing an alternative format for our meetups. That's 7pm November 9th in "The Studio" at Lone Tree Library.
